I t's a joy to wake up just after dawn and go down to the golf course to play a round of golf, or to stroll along the deserted pristine beaches and duck in for a quick swim.
To be surrounded by Norfolk Pines, History and an amazing atmosphere. Then to meet locals as they start their day in the same way, a friendly wave, a casual conversation - a fabulous, unforgettable way to start your day before a scrumptious breakfast at a number of quaint cafe's around the Island.
Then it's off to the National Park to soak up some of the Semi-tropical rainforest, with its stunning views of rock formations and arches just off the coast. The park contains Norfolk Tree ferns, Norfolk Pines, Phillip Island Hibiscus, Palms, Lilies, Beech, Maple, Oak, Oleander, Blood wood, Ironwood and Whitewood. The walking trails are well marked. The park contains the two highest peaks on the Island Mount Bates and Mount Pitt at around 320 meters above sea level.
After all that walking it's time to replenish the body, with a picnic arranged via our hotel which we devour at the top of Mount Pitt overlooking the Pacific Ocean. After getting our breath back we are off to check out some of the history of Norfolk Island and to get a lesson in the local lingo. After much laughter and fun, we have just enough time to snap a couple of fabulous photos before our "Hot Stone" Massage, so that we are refreshed and ready for dinner.
